HOW IT WORKS

What is Fine Arts Fundraising?

As educators and musicians, we understand the importance and difficulty of funding in the arts, but it IS a surmountable challenge, and we want to help! The best part? It is completely FREE to use our website!

Fine Arts Fundraising has created a platform to assist organizations’ fundraising needs through the convenience of online shopping and direct donation by interested supporters. Through our online marketplace, your supporters can purchase from our curated list of products and then 25% of the money received by all purchases goes directly to your organization. In addition, if someone wishes to donate money directly to your fundraiser, he/she can do so through this website and you receive 100% of the donation.

We also invite you to visit our list of other Fundraising Ideas and Additional Fundraising Websites to broaden your fundraising outreach.

Register Your Group

As an organization leader, you begin the process by determining the arts project which needs funding. Examples include a travel and performance opportunity, a new piece of equipment, or ensemble attire. Once this has been determined, you must register your group with us as the “Fundraising Coordinator” to start receiving profits from the website.

Enter your organization’s information as well as your contact information as the fundraising coordinator on our Register an Organization page. You will be asked to create a username and password for your account to access progress within your campaign. We will review your group’s information and then supply a group code for your supporters to enter on our website to receive credit for their purchases. We track all purchases very carefully to make sure all profits are designated to the correct fundraising account.

Build Your Team

Ensemble conductors and theater directors have a full-time job teaching students and leading a program. We recommend that the ensemble director serves as an advisor rather than a full-time member of the committee.  This frees him or her to attend to the many and varied tasks of teaching and program administration.

Set a Schedule and Determine Fundraising Goals

Start planning early!

Are you raising money for travel, a performance opportunity, or for your program in general? When are your deposits due to vendors such as hotels, airlines, bus companies, and/or tour operators?  What does your payment schedule look like?

Setting a schedule of dates helps build a picture of how long you would like the fundraising campaign to run and when you would like to receive your profits from the fundraiser.

How much money do you need to raise? Is there a specific amount you need to raise to proceed with the trip or to purchase necessary equipment?  Does your schedule leave enough time to raise this amount of money?  All of these questions should be addressed when determining a schedule.

Promote Your Fundraiser Campaign

This is the most crucial step in fundraising. The more time and effort put into promotion of your campaign, the better your chances of reaching your fundraising goals.

With your fundraising committee in place, start to brainstorm ways of promoting your campaign through group websites, social media, flyers, blogs, local news outlets, friends and family, and/or local businesses in your community. Get creative!

Receive Profits and Donations

Throughout the campaign, the fundraising coordinator will have access to the progress of all purchases and donations made by the group’s supporters. At the conclusion of the campaign, once all purchases have been made and donations have been accepted, a check will be submitted to your organization and that’s it!
